Elizabeth A. Kleger
Attorney Overview
Elizabeth “Betsy” Kleger joined Bayer & Carey in July 2023. Born in Baltimore and raised in New Jersey, Mrs. Kleger graduated with Honors in Economics with a B.A. from McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland, in 1983. She graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1986 and was admitted to the Maryland Bar the same year. In 1987 Mrs. Kleger was admitted to the District of Columbia Bar. After gaining substantial experience in insurance defense litigation in Maryland and D.C. from 1986 through 1994 (and obtaining admission to the Colorado State Bar in 1993) Mrs. Kleger relocated to the Denver Metropolitan area in 1994 where she continued to be an active trial lawyer, representing insurance companies and their policyholders, primarily “in house” with various insurance carriers. Her practice focuses on the defense of personal injury cases. Her pastimes include knitting, cross-stitching, reading, bird-watching and going to the opera (and other live music events) with her husband, Scott, to whom she has been married since 1988. They have an adult son and daughter-in-law.

Mrs. Kleger has tried over 50 jury trials in her career, the majority of which have been in various Colorado State District Courts.
